Greg Hill

Captain

Captain Greg Hill is a U.S. Coast Guard–licensed Master Captain (100-ton credential) whose love of boating began on the St. Lawrence River at age seven, making seasonal passages across Lake Ontario with his father. He later brought that foundation to Sodus Bay, serving as captain aboard the Rose Lummis and sharing the bay’s history and character with passengers.

Since 2018, Greg has owned and operated a 45-foot Carver motor yacht on Lake Ontario and maintains a classic 1957 Lyman 23-foot utility that has long been part of his family’s St. Lawrence River tradition. He has cruised the St Lawrence River, the Trent-Severn Waterway, traveled north to the Georgian Bay, Lake Superior and Mackinac on Lake Michigan, sailed the Caribbean on extended catamaran voyages, and was part of the winning crew in the overnight Scotch Bonnet Race across Lake Ontario.

For Greg, boating is about stewardship, sound judgment, and sharing the experience of the water with others.
